When faced with challenges and obstacles, we may focus on all the reasons preventing us from persevering to reach our goals. We may focus on who we are not or the skills we lack, versus whom we are and the strengths we possess. Often, we forget the capability that exists within each of us to rise to the challenge. It is at times like these that an empowering message can inspire us.
All of us at one point or another have been consumed by inspiration. Think about how you feel and act when you are inspired. Things seem to flow naturally without any effort at all. You work at a greater capacity and accomplish things you never thought possible. You may feel you have an abundant source of creativity and energy. You may find yourself working beyond what you thought was possible.
The reality is that often people feel less than capable of rising to the expectations placed on them. We work in a world where the goals and expectations seem more and more unattainable. When people perceive their goals or expectations as unattainable they sometimes feel helpless and just try to do their best. In this case, they feel much less than inspired. In fact, they may even be de-motivated.
At INITIATE we believe that sometimes employees need a little reminder of the potential each of us possesses to be great and achieve stretching targets.
